UNIFORM SYSTEM OF ASSESSMENT – 2019-2020
What is Assessment?
Assessment is the systematic process of documenting and using empirical data to measure knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. By taking the assessment, teachers try to improve the student's path towards learning. In education, the term assessment refers to the wide variety of methods or tools that educators use to evaluate, measure, and document the academic readiness, learning progress, skill acquisition, or educational needs of students.
Need for Assessment:
Assessment in school serves the following purposes:
◦ To know the improvement of children in learning.
◦ To know the effectiveness of teaching practices.
◦ To understand the impact of curriculum on children and to check its feasibility.
◦ To follow alternate teaching-learning practices.
CCE Pattern of Assessment:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) follows and strongly recommends continuous and comprehensive evaluation throughout the year. It means that a child has to be assessed throughout the year not merely at the end of the year. Assessment is evaluating the child as a whole not in a single aspect.
Areas of Assessment:

2. Co-Scholastic Area
